A series paper sizes, dimensions and information defined by the ISO 216 international paper size standard. The A series was adopted in Europe within the 19th century, and is currently used all round the world, aside from within the USA and Canada. This series is one of the most popular paper series around the world. A4 instead is the most popular paper size in the world, which is 210mm x 297mm (8.27 inches x 11.7 inches). One of the most important paper sizes from the A series is the A0 paper size. It's an area of 1m2, and therefore the dimensions are 841mm x 1189mm. The aspect ratio that A series uses is 1:√2. In order to get other sizes of this series you can fold the paper in half. For instance, cutting an A4 in half, will create two A5 sheets, then forth. Any size of brochure are often made using paper from the succeeding larger size, for instance A3 sheets are folded to form A4 brochures. The standard lengths and widths of the A series are rounded to the closest millimetre.
